In case you haven’t heard, Microsoft is ending support for Windows 7 as of January 14, 2020.

What does this mean for you if you’re running Windows 7, you ask?  In the short-term, not much.  You’ll still be able to use Windows 7, and go about your daily business.  The long-term, however, is a completely different (and scary) scenario.

With no more Windows 7 support, you will no longer receive important security updates that you can install.  This will lead to increased security risk for your system, and will make it easier for your system to be compromised as more vulnerabilities are discovered and exploited by hackers.

While it does sound like Microsoft can offer paid support for Windows 7, it will be tedious, time-consuming, and get expensive in a hurry.

So this writer encourages you to upgrade to Windows 10 as soon as possible.  If you’re not sure how to do that, contact a good local computer company that can help you.  If you live in the Ann Arbor/Saline/Ypsilanti area, we can give you a recommendation for a great shop if you need it.

So goodbye, Windows 7, and good luck with the upgrade!
